Battle of the Pumpkin coffee

pumpkin coffee 2

Pumpkin coffee is my obsession this time of year. The best pumpkin coffee I have had is from Dunkin Donuts. But I’m not paying over $2 for a cup a coffee everyday. Instead I save money by purchasing various pumpkin flavored coffees for my Keurig machine.

To me pumpkin coffee tastes delicious on its own but I know Dunkin adds a syrup flavor to make theirs taste sweeter. I did buy a pumpkin spice coffee syrup from Target as well, for people who like their coffee sweeter, this works and  a little goes a long way.

I would say my favorite non Dunkin pumpkin coffee is Pumpkin Spice from Green Mountain but its fun to find and try pumpkin flavors from new brands!

Random purchases and savings

 Coffee savings

I drink coffee everday so I’m always on the hunt for a good deal on coffee, more specifically kcups. I went to Target twice now when they have had coffee for Buy two get one free. First I went when Starbucks was one sale but more recently I purchased three boxes of pumpkin spice coffee.

Total kcups 54, total amount paid $20, price per cup = 37 cents per kcup Here are some other coffee savings post that I have done: Keurig, Dunkin, Book Holders

I’ve been loving trying out new skincare this year. At my recent visit to ULTA I purchased two items from the body shop as they were on sale for BOGO 50% off (which equals 25% off each product) and I used a 16% discounted giftcard as well. Savings totaled 35% off!

Michaels and AC Moore: I’ve been loving scrapbooking for years and just recently got into planners as well. I went to Michaels when planner stickers were BOGO 50% off and saved $7.

AC Moore had scrapbooking books on sale for 50% off so I saved $20 there when I purchased two!

Keurig 2.0

Keurig 2.0

I’ve been using the KEURIG Vue machine for the past couple of years. And while I do like the machine itself I realized that Keurig isn’t making an extensive coffee selection to choose from in Vue –cups (the Vue machine doesn’t fit regular K-cups). With the new Keurig 2.0 I read that the machine fits different size k-cups, and any unused Vue cups that I have left will fit in this new machine.

So I started researching prices of the new Keurig machine. The best price I found was buying through the Keurig website. This video below gives a short demo of the new machine I purchased along with a walk through of how to purchase on the Keurig website to save 50%.

DIY Book Holders

Two things I really enjoy are reading and coffee.

I have a bookshelf in my living room that I’ve always wanted to make look more decorative but never wanted to spend money on expensive book holders sold at retail stores.

DIY bookholders

Keurig machines are extremely popular and therefore people are constantly buying K-cups to use with their single serving brewers. Empty k-cup boxes are mostly thrown away or hopefully recycled. One day I came up with the idea to use the empty k-cup boxes from the coffee I love to drink to decorate my bookshelf with the books I love to read. I shopped around for a bit to find a decorative paper to use that would cover up the coffee words and would also match my home décor. I found what I was looking for at Michael’s but I’m sure other crafts stores with carry similar items.

I love that I was able to find such a good use for a commonly discarded item. So here’s my DIY for book holders for your bookshelves using empty K-cup boxes!
