Here are some fashion & beauty pics inspired by fall…..
I just purchased this beautiful coat from Forever21…I paid full price ($60) because I know it won’t last until a sale…it’s too pretty and they only had one left in the store in my size! Can’t wait to wear it!!
These are my favorite fall scarves…the first two a purchased from Charming Charlie and the 3rd I made my self. See DIY blanket scarf post here.
Some of my favorite fall nail polish colors! I’ve collected these colors over the years..the brands range from Marc Jacobs to Ulta.
Some makeup lip colors I’ve been loving…the especially love the Milani cosmetics metallic lipsticks.
More makeup I’ve been loving for fall
This is a turquoise handbag I purchased on sale from Charming Charlie and I added a fall colored scarf for a dressier touch.
Kate Spade tote with my plaid scarf
Scarves are by far one of my favorite accessories especially in fall, but they can be pricey…some going for over $30 apiece.
I’ve been seeing really pretty pictures on Pinterest of blankets scarves but there was a certain plaid pattern I was searching. As luck with have it, on a trip to Jo-anne fabric one afternoon I saw the pattern I wanted! They had quite a selection of plaid fabrics. I love the green with red and blue.
I waited a few weeks for the plaid fabrics to be marked down 40% and then I used a 20% off your purchase coupon.
Regular price the fabric was $9.99 per yard. I purchased roughly 1 1/3 yards. So it would have cost about $13. With the 40% off I got the fabric for $5.99/yard and an additional 20% or $1.50 of so my final price was roughly $6.20 before taxes.
The 1 1/3 yards makes the fabric square in shape, so I basically just fold it up how I like and there is my blanket scarf. No sewing required.
A $6 blanket scarf!
If you personally would like to add fringe edges there is a how to tutorial here from jo-ann’s website.
Ulta is one of my favorite places to shop. I love their mix of drugstore and high end beauty products. But I love saving money too! That’s why I create a wish list of products I need / want and wait for sales. Often they have 20% off you purchase, BOGO 50% off or you can use a $3.50 off your purchase of $15 or more. And those are good deals but those promotions don’t usually qualify on “prestige” brands at Ulta (which of course are the products I want). For a list of those brands check here
So I wait..and I wait..
At the end of October the sale I have been waiting for finally came!
20% off your entire purchase prestige brands included. YESS!! I had anticipated this sale would come some time before Sephora’s VIB sale in November but I didn’t know exactly when. Even though I didn’t know the exact date I did scope out a discounted gift card a month ago in anticipation. Thanks to that I received an additional 15% off my purchase!!
The Ulta 20% off your entire purchase was for an online purchase only and the promo code came via email. Make sure you are signed up as a Ulta rewards member and receive promotions to an email address that you check often. This sale lasted for one day only!
Total purchase: $240 before discount + 20% applied = $192, additional discounted giftcard 15% off: total paid $163 (does not include taxes). Total savings 32%
At the beginning of each week I like to get prepared and meal prep some lunch, dinner and snack ideas for the week.
This week was pretty quick meal prep, but here is what is on the menu:
B- smoothie w/ protein powder
S-almond flour strawberry shortcake muffin
L-protein pasta with turkey meatballs and side salad
S-yogurt with nuts mixed in
D-bean burrito with cheese and Greek yogurt (great sour cream substitute)
I also love painting my nails a new color at the beginning of each week! This color is from Ulta’s brand of nail polish…Love the it
Also last week I finished up a really good audio book that I listen to in my car on the way to / from work. I listen via a free audio service offered through my local library. I love that libraries are offering more digital services these days so I can listen or read books right from my cell phone! This service is called Hoopla, and there is a good selection of ebooks and audiobooks available.
This book was called “People over profits” by Dale Patridge . You can read reviews on Amazon here.
It was a really good book, definitely recommend a read / listen.
