So far this month I’ve been trying to be good and not spend much since the bills from the holiday shopping will be rolling in. But I I did purchase some items and wanted to share my savings so far this month.
What is a holiday without some festive beverages!! (check out my Thanksgiving drinks post here)
Christmas eve is almost upon us and I’ve put together my drink menu. I found all my drinks on Pinterest (follow me: MySavvySavings) and am super excited to whip them up!
The original pictures above are not mine. I’ve added some art to the pictures I copied from the websites linked above to display on Xmas eve.
I noticed when putting together my shopping list that 3 of the 4 drinks called for vanilla vodka. Well I was in luck because both BevRage and Ibotta had cash back rebates on Smirnoff (any flavor). So I purchased the 1.75 L bottle for $19 and received $3 cash back already from each app.
Make sure to check out these apps for additional savings this holiday season. (Referral code for BevRage: ZCREWEHZ and for ibotta: xbwuvfs)
Enjoy your drinks this holiday season!
Savings: 32% cash back
Wine baskets make a great Christmas gift but they can be pricey so I decided to make my own wine basket this year to save money!
First I bought a holiday box to put the wine and treats in (mine was $5 from Ocean State). Then I bought a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine. You can check the app BevRage & Ibotta for cashback rebates. I’ve used both and save $6 on Thanksgiving cocktails. (Referral code for BevRage: ZCREWEHZ and for ibotta: xbwuvfs)
Then I went shopping for anything that pairs well with wine…cheese, crackers, cookies, chocolate, nuts etc. I found most of the treats for my wine basket/box at Ocean State Job lot (make sure to remove price tags). The olive oil and nuts were $3.49 and everything else was less than $3.
I’m going to add the cheese and jar of olives later on but here’s what it looks like so far! You can add wine coasters, wine charms, or wine glasses. Whatever makes sense to you. I found a cute wine bell from Charming Charlie of all places that I will be including in this basket/box.
I’ll wrap in cellophane later too, which I got a roll from the dollar store for $1. Wine baskets this size would cost well over $100, but mine cost less than $50 with the wine included!
Thanksgiving pictures and savings!!
Nails I painted myself with Sally Hansen miracle gel polish in the color Creme de la Creme and glued on nail jewels I had purchased on Amazon.
My cousin and I designed a bar sign with the drinks we would be serving. The sign is a black poster board and we used white marker to draw on. I then designed the drink pictures using Picmonkey.com. She added velcro to the back of the drink pictures so we could remove them next time we use the sign and switch to different pictures.
After I purchased the alcohol I checked out BevRage and ibotta cash back apps and saved $6 total because there were rebates on the Vodka and Rum I used!! All I had to do is sign into the apps and upload my receipt!
Holidays are a big time for the purchase of alcohol. Not only are drinks usually served at Holiday parties but they are also given as gifts. Make sure to check out these apps over the holiday seasons to save on liquor, wine and beer purchases!!
At the beginning of each week I like to get prepared and meal prep some lunch, dinner and snack ideas for the week.
This week was pretty quick meal prep, but here is what is on the menu:
B- smoothie w/ protein powder
S-almond flour strawberry shortcake muffin
L-protein pasta with turkey meatballs and side salad
S-yogurt with nuts mixed in
D-bean burrito with cheese and Greek yogurt (great sour cream substitute)
I also love painting my nails a new color at the beginning of each week! This color is from Ulta’s brand of nail polish…Love the it
Also last week I finished up a really good audio book that I listen to in my car on the way to / from work. I listen via a free audio service offered through my local library. I love that libraries are offering more digital services these days so I can listen or read books right from my cell phone! This service is called Hoopla, and there is a good selection of ebooks and audiobooks available.
This book was called “People over profits” by Dale Patridge . You can read reviews on Amazon here.
It was a really good book, definitely recommend a read / listen.
